Noble Walter Wood diary, March 31 - September 4, 1863.

The diary is a handwritten copy of the original, and depicts the daily activities of Mr. Wood, as he served in the Civil War. He records daily activities as he serves from March 31, 1863 to June 20, 1863, having been wounded in battle on May 18, 1863. Entries from September 1-4, 1863 are also included. Locations found in the diary include: Young's Point, LA., Greenville, Miss.,Vicksburg, Miss., Crescent City, Miss., Col. Fisk's plantation, Grand Gulf, Miss., Big Black River, Miss., and Jackson, Miss. Written on the front of the book is the following: "A copy made for Walter Moore, of part of a diary kept by his Grandfather, Noble Walter Wood, while [in] the War of the Rebellion."
