Out of the frying pan into the fire [manuscript] : a tragi-comi-operatic farce, ca. 1750.

A parody of Green's Friar Bacon and Frian Bungay. Quotes and parodies passages from Shakespeare. Probably played by amateurs; one of the players was the author. The fifth air to be sung to the tune of Thomson's "Rule Britannia" which was published in 1740.
