Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H. Thomas Bartelemy Cardon was one of Cache Valley's leading businessmen, owning a hotel, a photo studio, and a jewelry store. He was Italian, and came to Utah with his parents, who were Waldensian converts. He joined the army at Camp Floyd and later fought in the Civil War on the Federal side. After the war he came to Logan to visit his parents, later joining the Mormon Church. He died in Logan in 1898 after having served many positions in Logan City government.
