Bernard collection, 1848-1890.

The collection consists of six deeds, a map, and two scrapbooks. The deeds include one signed by Crawford W. Long. Many of the deeds are specifically about property located on Waddell St. in Athens, Georgia. Crawford Long, a Georgia native, received his education at Franklin College (University of Georgia). He completed his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania in 1839. After a short time in New York, Dr. Long returned to Georgia and spent his entire career there as a physician and surgeon.
