Carolyn Simpson oral history interview, 1993.

Simpson discusses her family background and her reasons for attending the University of Texas and pledging Kappa Alpha Theta. She mentions her move to Baton Rouge and her decision to organize an LSU chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. She extensively talks about planning for and building the sorority house and, when completed, its effects on rush. She also gives her opinions on the state of sorority life today.

Carolyn Neal Simpson was born on 15 January 1931 in Ardmore, Okla. Simpson attended Bartlesville College High School in Oklahoma and completed her freshman year of college at Monticello in Alton, Ill. She transferred to the University of Texas, pledged Kappa Alpha Theta, and graduated in August 1953. She moved to Baton Rouge in February 1953, and taught as a substitute teacher.
