Papers of the Sandeman and Barrell families, including: letters between Robert Sandeman and his nephew George; letters between Robert Sandeman, Nathaniel Barrell, and others on theology, churches of Sandeman's sect (Sandemanianism) in Boston, New Haven, and Danbury, Ct., and family issues; and letters between Nathaniel Barrell, a Portsmouth, N.H. merchant, and his brother Joseph, a Boston lawyer, on legal issues, settlement of family estates, and other family business. One letter from Joseph to Nathaniel discusses their positions on the new U.S. Constitution while Nathaniel was a member of the N.H. state Constitutional Convention. Other correspondents include Daniel Humphreys.
