Physician. From the description of Letters, 1897. (Utah Historical Society). WorldCat record id: 122487159 Thomas L. Barnes was born in North Carolina in 1812. He served as a medical officer during the Black Hawk War and was a member of the Carthage Grays that guarded Joseph Smith when he was imprisoned at Carthage, Illinois.
