Elijah A. Brown, Sr. (1857-1926) was born in Canton, Ga. His father was Governor Joseph E. Brown. Elijah Brown attended Boy's High School, Oglethorpe University and the University of Georgia. He married Henrietta Law McBride in 1894. They had one son, Elijah A., Jr.. Later Elijah Brown married Harriet Elizabeth Johnson. They had three children: Penelope, Marcus and Joseph E..
