Account book, etc., 1836-1874.

Book includes a few personal expenses; notes about the Lowell Merrimack Corporation No. 5 Mill, including speeds of main shaft, whipper, willow, pickers, beaters, etc.; and lists of fruit trees (peaches, cherries, apples, plums, pears, naming different varieties). Accounts for 1872-1874 record expenses of raising chickens and money realized from egg and poultry sales. Some recipes are also recorded, including recipes for liquid grafting cement, cathartic medicine, elderberry wine, a roof preservative, etc. The book was not used between 1854 and 1872. The textile machinery notes are dated July 24, 1845. The fruit trees were planted in the 1840s and 1850s.
