Account book, 1915-1920.

An account book, apparently kept by Mrs. William Martin, detailing sales of furniture in 1918 and 1920. There is nothing to indicate where she worked. As well, there is one bill dated January 1915 which lists the purchase of windows, lumber, and doors; it is not clear if they were bought from Mrs. Martin or from someone else. Some of the accounts list both what the customer was charged and what the goods cost Mrs. Martin, and her profit is clearly stated. Tucked into the front of the volume is a broadside from George Benjamin, a maker of chairs in Morris, Otsego County, New York. The broadside is not dated; it lists the kinds of chairs available and their prices. The back of the broadside was used as a bill for his goods.
