Joy Wheeler Dow was an architect and author. He was born in 1861 and grew up in New York City. He became an architect in 1890. He was widely known for work in Michigan, Connecticut, and New Jersey, and was one of the first to apply traditional architectural designs to small homes. His best known work is the Unitarian Meeting House, called "All Souls in the East," in Summit, New Jersey.
