House photographs, ca.1884-1892.

Ten photographs, one of the exterior and the others of the interior of the home of John Jay Knox. Although the photos were taken by a Philadelphia photographer (Street Portraits, 1634 Chestnut St.), the home is probably Knox's New York City residence. There are views of the stairhall, a bedroom, living room, and dining room. Shown are furniture, art work, decorative items, light fixtures, swords, and animal heads.

10 photos : ill. ; 26 x21 cm.
