Bills, 1862-1917, 1869-1873, 1890 (bulk dates).

A collection of bills, 1862-1917, addressed to John R. Nichols, mostly from merchants in Rochdale or Worcester, Massachusetts. A number of bills are for building materials, such as boards and molding, windows and doors, nails and hardware, paint, gutters, and lead. One bill details charges for sawing. Later bills are mostly for insurance policies, not policies for Nichols himself but rather for clients that he represented. As well, the collection contains a few bills for groceries, medical services, coal, the Quinsigamond Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a business card for Nichols. Some of the bills have illustrated billheads: a chisel, a pitcher, scales, gutters, buildings, a wagon (not very clear), a train, a steamboat, and rubber stamps.
