Holograph pencil sketches from Crumb's American songbook series. The recto contains a sketch of the first 16 measures of Somebody got lost in a storm with corrections and deletions in pencil, caption title and instrumentation in black ink, with the following inscription in black ink: "A sketch for the second song of 'Voices from a forgotten world' (2006). George Crumb." The verso contains a sketch of the first 8 measures of My Lord, what a beautiful morning ("The drums of daybreak") with corrections in pencil, caption in black ink, with the following inscription in black ink: "A sketch for the first song of 'Voices from the morning of the Earth' (2007). George Crumb."
