The Adams family was long prominent in Colorado government and politics. Alva A. Adams moved to Pueblo, Colo., in 1871, and later served as governor of the state. Alva B. Adams, son of the Governor, represented Colorado in the U.S. Senate during 1923-1924 and from 1932 until his death in 1941. The Senator's son, Pueblo businessman Alva B.
