The youngest of eight children, William Penn Adair Rogers was born on November 4, 1879 at Rogers Ranch in Oologah, Indian Territory (what is now Oklahoma). His parents, Clement Vann Rogers and Mary Schrimsher, were partly of Cherokee descent. While growing up on the family ranch, Will worked with cattle and learned to ride and lasso from a young age. West Texas showman, oilman, and Texas legislator. As an actor and tent show owner, he traveled over the United States in tent shows during the period 1910 to 1944, principally in Texas and the Southwest. Born in Linesville, Pennsylvania. Grew up in the Tuttle Olympic Show, of which his parents were a part. He married Daisy Lowe, daughter of a grocer in Lubbock, and they had a son Conrad. Known professionally as Paul Thardo, he was an actor, drummer and xylophonist. During his later life, he was associated with the companies of Roy E. Fox, Harley Sadler, Harvey Haverstock and other tent shows. Died on May 16, 1982, thirteen days after his wife's death. From the description of Papers, ...
