Defensa de la Mystica Ciudad de Dios, de la Venerable Madre Sor M.a de Jesus Agreda : Mexico : ms., 1844.

A treatise by the Jesuit, Arrillaga, in defense of the Mística Ciudad de Dios, a life of the Virgin written by the Spanish nun, María de Ágreda. Consists of 1) a general history of the work and a review of the arguments on its merits; 2) a specific refutation of criticisms ascribed to Bishop Jacobo Benigno Bossuet, and of articles in the Mexican press based on these criticisms and published in response to a prospectus, advertising serial publication of the Mística Ciudad in Mexico. Inscription by the editor, stating that this is the original manuscript, corrected by the author.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
