Compilation prepared by Echevelar, lay brother of the Colegio de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Zacatecas, containing excerpts from Father [Francisco?] Navarro's exposition of the Rule of Saint Francis in question-and-answer form, with table of contents at end; Latin and Spanish verses setting forth the Rule; and two items in Latin prose and verse by Saint Bonaventure, 13th century Minister General of the Friars Minor, each entitled "Alphabetum Religiosorum" and consisting of precepts for monastic conduct, so arranged that the initial letters form an alphabet.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area.
