Charles William Wendte (1844-1931) graduated from Meadville Theological School in 1867 and Harvard Divinity School in 1869. Ordained to the Unitarian ministry, he served parishes in Chicago, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Boston, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island; and Los Angeles and Oakland, California.
