David I. Caldwell papers, 1847-1867.

Caldwell was a teacher, farmer and Superintendant of Schools for Jackson County, Missouri. He was also principal of the Missouri City Female Academy. Two volumes of David I. Caldwell's daily diary, 1847 - 1868. Diary contains information on farm accounts; weather; family happenings; names of visitors; and Civil War activity in Jackson County. Volumes also include enrollment and tuition records of the Missouri City Female Academy.
