American television writer and producer. Kemp was a writer and executive script consultant for the television series "Taxi," and was nominated for both the Emmy and Writer's Guild awards. By 1982, he was an executive producer for MTM Enterprises, penning the pilot for "In Security" and creating "The New Bob Newhart Show" - later "Newhart" - early in his tenure there.
