S. P. Langley letters to S. S. McClure [manuscript], 1889-1895.

Letter #1: 1889 May 11. Langley declines to "become a contributor" to a proposed "youth's department, under the editorship of Mrs. Frances Hodgson Burnett," citing the "constant press of public business." Letter #2: 1893 May 5. Langley says he has "nothing at present to add" to published work on "Aerodynamics" and his articles on "Mechanical Flight." Letter #3: 1895 Oct 11. "When I look at the article by Sir Robert Ball, that you send me, I find that a considerable part of it is taken, with little alteration, from a book of my own, "The New Astronomy," and the best thing I can do is to ask my publishers to put at your disposal any of the illustrations for the chapter which will at all suit."
