John Lyons Letter of Commendation, 1872.

Letter to Private Lyons while he was stationed at Fort Rice (D.T.). His son Jack worked on Missouri River steamboats, traveling between Ft. Benton (MT) and Kansas City (MO). Jack was later known as a pioneer and veteran restaurant operator in Bismarck (N.D.).
