Literary notes of James T. Foard [manuscript], ca. 1853-1887.

Consists mainly of notes on George Eliot, especially on several churches and localities in Warwickshire connected with her novels. These notes are entered in journal form, each page dated through the month of August 1887. Some entries are autobiographical. Shakespeare is mentioned several times. At end is "A holiday in Warwickshire: preface or proem".
