The Pi Lambda Theta Records consist of a scrapbook containing materials relating to the Tau Chapter and the national organization. Tau Chapter materials include alumni newsletters (1947-1967), programs and membership lists (1951-1978), newspaper clippings (1955-1965), bylaws (1976) and a photograph (1979). National organization materials include Officer's Handbook (1947), Book of Ceremonies (1947), constitution and bylaws (1955) and Pi Lambda Theta songs.

Pi Lambda Theta is an honor society for educators which was founded in 1910 by the Dean of Education at the University of Missouri, Dr. W.W. Charters. As a member of Phi Beta Kappa, an honor society who admitted only men at the time, Dr. Charters sought to create a similar honor and professional society for women educators.
