Edward J. Hecker papers, 1892-1945.

This collection includes Hecker's correspondence regarding his education for the hearing impaired, his election campaigns in 1912, 1916, and 1934, his work as Warren Township Trustee, local Republican Party politics, papers relating to the Irvington Republican Club, delegate badges from conventions Heckler attended, information on the reorganization of the Indianapolis Street Railway Company in 1932, and family matters. Also included are account books from Hecker Brothers printing company, his writings, newspaper clippings regarding his career and political campaign.

Edward J. Hecker was a teacher at the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis from 1888 to1905. He married Hanna L. Humann in 1889 and they had four children. He also worked as a printer and part owner of Hecker Brothers Printing in Irvington, Indiana. He wrote a column of wit and verses for the Indianapolis News.
