This collection consists of a letter to Marcelle Foote (Indiana State librarian) from Miss East's cousin, Earl East. Mr. East relates an anecdote of James Whitcomb Riley's admiration for the soprano's poise before a Chautauqua crowd in Bloomington, Ind. on November 6, 1903.
