Photographs, negatives, newsclippings, brochures, tax records, maps, etc., primarily related to the chamber's efforts to promote Dauphin Island, Alabama, as a resort location. Among the more interesting photographs are those of Alabama Power Company's Barry Steam Plant, Azalea Trail Maids, several different bridges, several area forts, the construction of new dormitories at Mobile College (now the University of Mobile), and four photos of a "treasure house" near Theodore, Alabama, that contained a 1742 Paul de Lamerie urn, a Louis XV ladies secretary, and a rare Chippendale table. Other interesting items in the collection are a series of reprinted photographs and textual material related to the USS Hartford, Admiral David Farragut, and the Battle of Mobile Bay, which apparently formed part of a transfer of material from the U.S. Navy and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard to the chamber after the chamber began plans to create a "Hartford Room" at Fort Gaines. Those plans failed to materialize. Also of interest is a brochure and photograph relating to the semi-quincentennial of the founding of Mobile.
