The 1960s and 1970s were a tumultuous time due to, among other things, the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. Michigan State University, like many universities across the United States, was filled with protests, rallies, and political movements striving for equal rights, an end to the Vietnam War, and to end other injustices, both on campus and around the world.
