Chiefly letters received by Williams of Winchester, Va., who later married William Eddy Reed of Gaylord, Va., from Confederate soldiers of the 8th Louisiana Regiment (who had been stationed near her home in 1861) describing activities and observations during the Civil War; letters from some of these men after the war describing conditions in New Orleans after they returned home; and three undated valentines.
