Henry Cabot Lodge, American statesman, Republican political leader, author and historian; he was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 12, 1850, a member of the influential New England Lodge and Cabot families. Lodge attended Harvard College, eventually graduating with a Ph.D. in Political Science, he then attended Harvard Law School from which he graduated in 1874.
