Papers (1819-35) of Jacob Reeves of East Sudbury, Mass., including leases and deeds to lands there and a few items related to his role as justice of the peace. Also, a typescript of a diary or reminiscences, possibly written by John Allen of Marblehead, Mass., of a voyage to Cuba (1809), his capture and imprisonment during the War of 1812 on the ship Ajax, on the prison ship Jason, at Dartmoor Prison in England, and his return to Boston on the ship Hector (1812-13). Additional pieces by or about Allen on the privateer General Armstrong and a battle with the ship Carnation at Fayal, the Azores (Sept. 1814) and biographical information on his childhood.
