Letter from General Charles P. Stone, chief of staff of the Egyptian Army, to Colonel David French Boyd of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. Writing from Cairo, Egypt, Stone thanks Boyd for sending a model of an artillery gun to the Khedive of Egypt and for his expression of support for the military campaign in which Stone is engaged.

David French Boyd (1834-1899) was an officer in the Confederate Army who for a time was a prisoner of war on a Union boat moored in Alexandria, La.
