Sir David Dundas (1799-1877), politician, the eldest surviving son of James Dundas of Ochtertyre, Perthshire, and his wife, Elizabeth, daughter of William Graham of Airth, Stirlingshire, was born in Edinburgh. From 1840-1852 and 1861-1867, Dundas represented Sutherland as a liberal.
