Unpublished typescript, written about 1940, documenting the development of the Medical School from its beginning as a two-year program through Dean Charles Staples Mangum's administration (1933-1937). Manning included his personal views of various events, such as the consolidation of the university, the restructuring of the health sciences program, the effort in 1921-1923 to expand the school from a two- year to a four-year program, and Manning's own resignation as dean in 1933.
