Fulkerson, Isaac, papers, 1861-1865.

The collection consists of five letters written by Isaac Fulkerson to relatives, spanning the duration of the Civil War. In the first letter, written in January 1861 in Brenham, Texas, Fulkerson describes the political climate in Texas and public support for secession. The remaining four letters were written in Brenham, Texas and in Georgia. They recount Fulkerson's joining of the Confederate Army and his subsequent experiences during the Civil War.
