Research notes and materials for published and unpublished non-fiction books, spanning the years 1853-2009. Working files for several of Nancy Ferrell's published books, such as Barrett Willoughby: Alaska's Forgotten Lady (1994), Battle of the Little Bighorn (1996), Alaska's Heroes: A Call to Courage (2002), Destination Valdez (1998), and White Water Skippers of the North: The Barringtons (2008). The collection specifically contains: photographs for publication, vital records, bibliographies, biographical accounts and background information in personal and published interviews, articles, and reproductions of newspaper clippings, Nancy Warren Ferrell's working manuscripts and correspondence pertaining to her pursuits as an author, personal photographs of her immediate family, travels to Russia, Australia, London, Juneau ca. 1954-late 1990s, lighthouses in Alaska, and a few newspaper clippings about the author.
