The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association was organized at Graham, Texas, in 1877 as the Stock-Raisers' Association of North-West Texas. Around 1893 it acquired a large membership from South Texas and became the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. Pioneer ranching family. Came to West Texas from Lampasas, Texas, in 1881. Robert Benjamin (Ben) Masterson began working cattle around Mobeetie, in Wheeler County, Texas. In 1898 he bought 125,000 acres in King and Knox Counties of Texas and started the JY Ranch, which eventually passed to his sons, T.B.
