Correspondence with Johan Thorsten Sellin, 1949-1988.

Much of the correspondence relates to Sellin's work as society president (1956-1965). The primary correspondents are society secretary-generals Jean Pinatel (who later became president of the society), Georges Fully and J. E. Hall Williams. Other notable correspondents include fellow criminologists Francisco Canestri, Paul Cornil, Benigno di Tullio (who became president when Sellin stepped down), Sheldon Glueck, Jean Graven, Yvonne Marx, V. V. Stanciu, and Gregory Zilboorg. Other documents relating to Sellin's participation in the society were lost in the 1968 fire at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Studies in Criminology and Criminal Law.

Gregory Zilboorg was a psychoanalyst and historian of psychiatry whose writings and lectures situated psychiatry within a broad sociological and humanistic context. Zilboorg emigrated to the United States in 1919 and for a time translated plays from Russian to English while studying medicine at Columbia University.
