Samuel J. Marino papers, 1935-2000 (bulk 1935-1946).

Correspondence (1935-1993), printed items, photographs and other items documenting the "Louisiana Kings," and "Owen Reed and the Playhouse Orchestra," and the later musical and professional careers of Marino and other band members. Correspondence and other items reflect military service of Marino and others during World War II. Photographs and ephemera document LSU football and campus life during the late 1930s. Printed program from the "Opening Gala" of the University of North Texas College of Music (Feb. 22, 1999) contains short biography of Owen Reed on page 18. Includes manuscript sheet music "Phi Ep Dream Girl" by Walter Schwimmer and a phonographic recording of Samuel Marino, vocals, with the Louisiana Kings (1941).
