The Girl Scouts were founded by Juliette Gordon Low on March 12, 1912 when Low organized the first Girl Guide troop meeting of 18 girls at her home in Savannah, Georgia. Arthur L. Harris, Jr. (1910 - ) was born in Georgia in 1910. His father was Arthur P. Harris and his mother unknown. Harris graduated from Yale University with a degree in French in 1931 then attended Harvard Law School until 1934. After finishing law school, he moved back to Atlanta and worked for the Hirsch, Smith, and Kilpatrick law firm until 1936.
