James Keen Munnerlyn letters, 1860-1867.

Family letters, chiefly 1861-1862, from James Keen Munnerlyn in Virginia. Most of the letters are addressed to Munnerlyn's sister, Mrs. D. S. Stocking of Charleston, S.C., and describe camp life, troop movements, casualties, and personal opinions of leaders. Also included is a photograph taken in 1867 of 18 men from Company F of the Georgia Hussars, Jeff Davis Legion.

James Keen Munnerlyn was a native of Georgetown, S.C., who during the Civil War served in the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. He first served in the Palmetto Guard, 2nd South Carolina Regiment, and later in Company F of the Georgia Hussars, Jeff Davis Legion, Stuart's Cavalry.
