The papers contain handwritten notes, typed lecture notes, and writing prompts, as well as handwritten and typed manuscripts and essays documenting De Grange's professional life as professor of sociology at Dartmouth College from 1924 to 1950. They include several manuscripts of The method of August Comte and De Grange's major work, a textbook, The nature and elements of sociology.
