Letters, postcards, poems, flyers, and envelopes, part of the correspondence from poet Richard Eberhart to his lifelong friend Betty Reed. Documents their romantic early relationship, often carried on at a distance. Eberhart discusses his personal philosophy and writes of his affection for Reed, his travels, and the various literary projects he was working on. Eberhart also sent Reed his poems, many written for her. Letters from the 1980s provide short updates on Eberhart's life and mention efforts to meet with Reed.
