Sarah Baker oral history interview, 1974.

Sarah Baker, 113 years old at the time of the interview, discusses her life on the Magee Plantation; the treatment of field hands; and the Magee family. She mentions the end of the Civil War and the racial conflicts that followed; moving to Baton Rouge at age 47; and Mamee, voodoo lady of Baton Rouge. She also mentions the Ku Klux Klan; Rip White's plantation, near Norwood, La.; and her first impressions of the automobile and airplane.
