Jo Stumberg oral history interview, 1978.

Interview discusses Stumberg's first Master's thesis on occupations for women in Baton Rouge; her parents' unique opinions for the time; and campus life on the old campus. Mentions her career as an elementary school teacher and then, LSU teacher in the 1930s; first to teach home economics; and overseeing the "tin shop". Also mentions being fired by Huey Long; the lives and status of women during the 1920-1930s; and the expansion of LSU.

Jo Stumberg was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 5, 1902. She received her undergraduate degree in 1922, a Master of Education degree in 1928, and a Master of Science degree in 1937, all from Louisiana State University.
