Account book kept by Daniel Clap and later Charles Clap. Includes work performed for Dartmouth College and Eleazar Wheelock, and agricultural work in Hanover, N.H. and Royalton, VT. Of particular importance are the records kept by Daniel Clap while a member of the unit that laid seige to Saint Johns, Quebec, and the further invasion of Canada in 1775. The accounts kept on this expedition list the names of soldiers and officers taking part in the invasion. Also included are records of the settlement of several estates within the Clap family.

The celebration of the 150th anniversary of the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the Dartmouth College Case was held on April 9, 1969, in the Court of Claims, Washington, D.C.; the celebration also commemorated the career of Daniel Webster, the advocate who defended the case before the Supreme Court. Wheelock, Eleazar, 1711-1779

Eleazar Wheelock was born in Windham, Conn. in 1711. A Congregational minster, he was the founder and first president of Dartmouth College. He died in Hanover, N.H. in 1779.
