Collection includes typescript of Amory's account of his summer trip from Seattle to Dawson and down the Yukon River, June 14 to Oct. 4, 1912, to collect specimens of mammals for the Smithsonian Institute. Also includes a letter describing the trip, a map of the area surrounding the Yukon River, and an excerpt from The Wilderness of the upper Yukon by Charles Sheldon (published as: The wilderness of the upper Yukon : a hunter's explorations for wild sheep in sub-arctic mountains. -- New York : C. Copley Amory (1866-1960) was a member of a family originally from Boston, Massachusetts, of whom three generations took part in expeditions to Greenland, Siberia, and Alaska between 1860 and 1915.
