A memoriall of a discours : used by the late wourthy Emperour Charles the fythe, uppon ye Resignement of governement, and States, to Phillippe his sonne, now Kinge of Spaine, ca. 1556.

Copy of the English translation of the memorial prepared by Charles V for Philip II of Spain. Tipped into the volume are two pages of notes on other copies of the text, including British Library, Ms. King's Library 166, the original translation. Included is a letter, tipped in from Edward Ventris to Sir William Stirling Maxwell, describing Cambridge University Library, Ms. Mm. I. 26, another copy of the text. Letter is dated March 29, 1861.

33 leaves in a late 16th century hand. Binding is mid-19th century. In a Sangorski and Sutcliffe box.
