Correspondence between Nicholas Gilman and his brother Daniel concerning the work of their firm Daniel Gilman and Co., of Boston. Also included is information on contemporary figures and affairs including Lafayette, Cornwallis, Louis XVI of France, and French and English conflicts and treaties. The correspondence treats New Hampshire politics, history, and figures including John Taylor Gilman and Jeremiah Smith.
